How to Make Blood-Red Elixir
Ingredients
- 2 cups of pineapple juice
- 1 cup of cranberry juice
- 1/2 cup of grenadine syrup
- 1/4 cup of lemon-lime soda
- 1 tablespoon of grenadine syrup (for garnish)
- Edible blood (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine the pineapple juice and cranberry juice. Stir until well combined
- Add the grenadine syrup and stir until dissolved
- Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together
- Just before serving, add the lemon-lime soda and stir gently
- To give the drink an eerie glow, add a splash of grenadine syrup to the bottom of each glass before filling it with the Blood-Red Elixir
- Garnish each glass with a sprig of rosemary or a few ice cubes with a dash of edible blood
Tips and Variations
- To make the drink even more sinister, serve it in glasses with a “bloody” ice cube (made by freezing water with a few drops of edible blood)
- Consider adding a few sprigs of rosemary or thyme to create a “witch’s brew” effect
- If you prefer a more intense flavor, you can increase the amount of grenadine syrup or add a splash of citrus juice (like orange or grapefruit)
- For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the lemon-lime soda and add more pineapple juice
